Why Crab?

"A bad day even near the water is still better than a good one on land"
- Unknown

My dad, John Baldauf of Amityville NY, now of New Bern, spent every spare minute of his free time on or near the water when we were kids. I think he instilled in me the same love of all things water related; especially crabbing.

Best bait? Still raw chicken.. any piece or part that strikes your fancy. The crabs love it all. And if you're forced to spend an afternoon or evening looking out over the river, well so be it.

To prepare? Take home, place in big pot of boiling water, put as many in as possible, cover. Cook about 4 minutes, remove from water. Spread newspapers on kitchen table, and start cracking them open. Enjoy!
